The order is always made within certain limits or conditions. At the same time, it is important to find a compromise between your own interests and the desires of the supplier of goods / services.
Instructions
Step 1
Be specific about your interests and preferences. It would be a mistake to immediately look for supplier offers. Do the "Perfect Order" exercise first. Write down all the conditions that interest you - order volume, delivery time, price, settlement time, quality assurance, return conditions, additional service, etc.
Careful execution of this exercise will allow you to determine your view of the optimal order - before you read any suggestions.
Step 2
Specify the circumstances that you would like to avoid. Make a list of unwanted circumstances or conditions. Maybe you don't want to place an order online, but rather communicate with a supplier representative. Or never agree to cooperate without a deferred payment.
It is very important to define your "rules of the game" in advance, and then convey them to future partners. You can always find a supplier who will agree to make concessions and work according to your rules. But for this you yourself must clearly know what you want or don’t want.
This approach will avoid conflict and stressful situations when working with new suppliers. Otherwise, you may encounter various surprises.
Step 3
Pre-select the company in which you intend to buy goods / services to order. Usually companies already have standard delivery agreements. Study the terms of these agreements carefully.
Keep a list of your ideal order in front of you. And check the points, whether all the conditions you need are reflected in the contract. And is there anything in this agreement that is undesirable for you, which you identified in the 2nd step.
Make the necessary notes and insertions in the contract. You are now ready to chat with a vendor representative. Analyze the contracts of other candidates for cooperation in the same way.
Step 4
Meet with company representatives. Since you are well prepared, such meetings should not take much of your time. Your task is to convey your desires to a potential partner and find out if they agree to work on such conditions and make the appropriate amendments to the contract.
Step 5
Place an order with a company that will provide the closest conditions to your "Ideal Order".
