You can check how often the name invented by you for the company is used using the website of the Federal Tax Service of Russia. The link from its main page provides the service “Check yourself and your counterparty”. It allows you to check any name for uniqueness throughout the country, and to limit the search range to one region of Russia.

Step 1
Go to the main page of the website of the Federal Tax Service of Russia. The link you need is on the right side of the page. If you are using a computer with a small monitor, you will most likely need to scroll down a little.
Click on the words "Check yourself and the counterparty", and a search form will open in front of you.
It contains a lot of fields, but most of them are not relevant for your case. After all, you are not interested in collecting information about a specific legal entity, but only in checking the frequency of use of the name you have chosen.
When checking a specific legal entity, the database will allow you to find out whether the company exists, whether the information it gives about itself is true, to reveal fictitious registration addresses, etc.
Step 2
Since you are only interested in your company name, there are only three fields you need to fill out. In the Name field, enter the name to check. Then select the search circle from the drop-down list. It can be an entire country or one of the regions.
The search circle in this case depends on your situation. If you plan to conduct activities within one subject of the Federation, it will be enough to limit yourself only to them. In other situations, it makes sense to look across the country. However, you can conduct a search first by country, and then at least by all subjects in turn.
Also enter the suggested numbers in the code field.
Just leave the rest empty and click on the "Search" button.
Step 3
After clicking, a page with search results will open in front of you. If there are few of the same names, there are none at all, or they are absent in your region, we can say that you coped with the task of naming the future enterprise perfectly and you can register it with a unique name.
Otherwise, when the search yielded hundreds or even thousands of results (for example, firms whose names include the word "Prestige" in Russia, according to the database, almost 9 thousand), it is worth looking for a less common option, which then check again for uniqueness using the same service.
