Opinion polls show that it is the rise in prices that Russians are most afraid of. Fears and fears have recently only been exacerbated by the actions of the authorities.
The head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina has already talked about how inflation will rise next year due to the tax changes coming into force. The government was convinced that the VAT should not increase the price of the main types of food and medicines - the rate on them remains preferential.
But then the same government decided to raise the fuel excise tax, and this already hits the price of all goods, since delivery costs are growing. In the fall, the country followed the opposition of major oil companies, owners of independent gas stations and the government over the increase in gasoline prices. As a result, the fuel excise tax was increased, and significantly: from 8, 2 thousand to 12, 3 thousand rubles per ton of gasoline.
The environmental fee is increasing, which the government has decided to introduce since the new year. The innovation will affect the manufacturers of plastic, plastic (for them the tariff will increase 2, 7 times) and metal packaging (8 times). The manufacturer will shift its costs onto the shoulders of the final consumer. Packaging will rise in price - what is sold in it will rise in price. This means that prices for frozen products, carbonated drinks and appropriately packaged dairy products will rise.
Starting next year, mandatory labeling of cigarettes and some other goods will be introduced. “Manufacturers will have to redo the packaging, now it should have a unique QR code. As a result, the retail price for tobacco will grow by 10-15%
As a result, fuel, cigarettes, wine and cars will rise in price the most. Fuel and tobacco will hit the pockets the hardest because of the increase in excise taxes on these products (+4.6% in price). Alcohol will cost more by 0.9%, and cars - by 0.2%, as follows from the report. The Central Bank admits that the rise in value added tax and fuel excise tax will negatively affect consumer inflation. However, if the VAT is not increased for all goods, then the gasoline that has risen in price will ricochet through the price tags of everything sold. Manufacturers will include additional transportation costs in the final cost, which means that absolutely everything will rise in price.
