The sale of goods by an enterprise should be reflected in its accounting records. To do this, use the synthetic account 90 "Sales", the credit of which reflects the cost of products sold, and the debit - the cost.
Instructions
Step 1
Reflect the revenue received from the sale on the debit of account 50 credit subaccount 90.1 ("Cash" and "Revenue"). If you receive payment for the goods to the current account, use account 51. As a result, the amount will be accumulated on subaccount 90.1 within a month. At the end of the period, calculate the total revenue and check it against the sales ledger data.
Step 2
Calculate VAT on the amount of monthly proceeds received from the sale of goods. This operation should be reflected on the debit of subaccount 90.3 and the credit of account 68 ("VAT" and "Calculations for VAT"). Calculate the amount of expenses for the sale of goods accumulated on account 44, and then write off to the debit of subaccount 90.2. Also write off to the sub-account "Cost of sales" the amount for the goods sold, accumulated on the corresponding account 41 "Goods" and the amount of the trade margin, which is reflected on account 42.
Step 3
Reflect the revenue in the accounting department as soon as you receive it from the collectors. To do this, reflect it on the debit of account 57 "Transfers in transit", indicating as correspondence subaccount 90.1 "Revenue". Next, determine the sales profit by deducting all expenses on subaccounts of account 90 from subaccount 90.1. If a positive financial result is obtained, reflect it on the debit of subaccount 90.5 in correspondence with account 99, thereby accounting for profit. If the result is negative, attribute it to the loan on subaccount 90.5, reflecting the company's losses.
Step 4
Remember that each operation for the sale of goods must be accompanied by the issuance of an invoice or receipt. Also, in some cases, you can use an order selection sheet (form TORG-8) or a letter of demand. Issue an invoice to receive payment for items. The documents must be certified by the round seal of the trade enterprise and the signature of the person responsible for the sale.
