A wobbler is a lure designed for fishing with a spinning rod. In shape, this bait resembles a small fish or insect. The history of the existence of the wobbler is more than 100 years old.
The idea of creating such an artificial bait belongs to the American James Heddon. On April 1, 1902, he received a patent for his invention - the world's first wobbler called Dowagiac, which is translated from one of the Indian languages as “a lot of fish”.

Depending on the model of the wobbler, a different number of hooks are attached to its body, usually from 1 to 3. The hooks make the whole structure heavier, the larger and larger they are, the deeper the bait will plunge into the water. The most popular are triple hooks, but there are also single and double hooks.
The wobbler is attached to the fishing line with a ring (loop). The attachment point can be in different parts of the bait, depending on the model, but most often it is located in the bow.
Types of wobblers
The main differences between the different models are in the degree of buoyancy and shape. By buoyancy, they distinguish between sinking, floating and wobblers with neutral buoyancy. The latter are also sometimes called suspenders. In terms of form, the classification is more complex, they distinguish jerk-bait, popper, fat, crank, minnow, shed and rattlin.
During its long history, the wobbler has proven its usefulness. At the same time, the use of a wobbler is solely a matter of preference. Some fishermen catch fish only with their help, others do not use this bait at all.
