Step 1
Read the sections of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation that regulate the taxation of income from renting an apartment. If you are not an individual entrepreneur, then the income tax rate for you will be equal to 13% of the profit received. Individual entrepreneurs can calculate this tax depending on the adopted taxation system. The situation is separately spelled out when an individual leases an apartment to a legal entity. According to Article 226 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, the tenant will be responsible for paying the tax.

Fill out an annual tax return, in which you enter data not only on income from renting an apartment, but also on other sources of income. The amounts indicated in the reporting must be confirmed by the lease agreement and receipts received from the tenants on the transfer of the corresponding amounts to you.
Step 3
Find out from the tax authority the bank details of the budgetary organization to which you need to transfer the amount of income tax. If you have stopped renting out the apartment, then make an agreement with the last tenants to terminate the contract. Submit this document to the tax office. If this is not done, then you can be credited with concealing income and imposed with penalties.
Step 4
Contact the tax authority and register as an unincorporated enterprise (unincorporated business). After that, choose a simplified taxation system that will allow you to calculate income tax at a rate of 6%. In this case, it is possible to take into account in the calculation of the tax not only the profit received, but also the amount of expenses for utility bills, services of realtors, repairs, and so on. In addition, by renting out an apartment as an entrepreneur, you are exempt from paying property tax.
