Renting out your home is considered a source of income from which personal income tax (PIT) must be paid at a rate of 13%. The taxpayer is obliged to transfer this money to the budget. The deadline for paying personal income tax for the last year is April 30. Before the same date, you must also submit a declaration to the tax office.

It is necessary

  • - calculator;
  • - details of your tax office;
  • - a receipt from Sberbank for paying taxes;
  • - a computer;
  • - access to the Internet.

Instructions

Step 1

Calculate the tax amount. To do this, divide the annual rental income (monthly rent multiplied by 12) by 100, and multiply the result by 13.

You can pay tax at any time, as long as no later than April 30th. But it is more convenient to do this as income arrives. The more money you have to pay, the more difficult it is to part with it. And the required amount by the time of the deadline for payment may simply not be available: spending money is always easier than earning.

Step 2

Find out in the territorial tax office, the Sberbank branch closest to your home, or on the official website of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for your constituent entity of the Federation for the details for paying personal income tax.

When paying through Sberbank, take a special receipt form for taxes at the branch and fill it out.

You can also make a payment from your account in a particular bank. But it is better to clarify whether he makes such payments. If yes, you can create a payment via an Internet client or contact the bank operator for this purpose. He will ask you to show your passport. He will also need details, amount and purpose of payment.

Step 3

From the first business day in January to April 30, you must also file your tax return for the previous year (form 3NDFL). The form of this document can be taken from the tax office or downloaded on the Internet.

In the declaration, you must indicate the amount of all income for the year and taxes paid from it, including earnings through tax agents (employers and organizations that make payments under civil law contracts: agency, copyright, contract, etc.). To do this, you will need a 2NDFL certificate from each tax agent. For this document, you can apply with a statement addressed to the head of the relevant organization.

The completed declaration must be taken to the tax office in person (with a copy to mark the acceptance) or sent by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt.
