Have you decided to open a store and want to be recognized immediately? Or has your organization been working for a long time, but you never got around to hanging a signboard? Keep in mind that permission is required to place the sign, like any other advertising structure.
From the point of view of the law, a sign is any outdoor object on the wall or facade of a house, flat or three-dimensional, with information about your company. It is completely unimportant whether it is glowing or painted on a board, made from recycled materials or sparkling with fresh polished metal - in any case, you will have to get permission to place it, since it is an outdoor advertising medium.
Documents for sign registration
You will need to provide the local administration with a whole package of documents for permission to place the sign.
First, you will need to prove ownership if the home is yours. Prepare a notarized copy of the title deed. If the building does not belong to you, but you have officially entered into a lease agreement for the premises of your organization, you will need a copy of this agreement with your seal.
Secondly, you will need to demonstrate the layout or design project of the sign itself - how it will be located on the facade of the house, the installation of what structures will be required to install it and what its final look will be. The project must be executed in color and provided with the certification of the owner of the premises or the entire building on which the sign will be placed, and the seal of the hosting organization, in four copies.
If the sign has already been made and you are legalizing it post facto, you will need color photographs of the installed sign in duplicate. If you first decided to prepare all the documents and only then deal with the installation, then you will need to provide the photos as an installation report.
And one more important point - if your sign uses a company logo or a trademark, you have to confirm your rights to use it. A certificate of registration or a signed agreement of use is suitable as such confirmation.
Placing a sign on an apartment building
If your premises is located in a residential building, and you are going to place a sign on its wall, you will have to stock up on the minutes of the general meeting of residents, which will allow you to carry out this project. You need to get support from at least two thirds of apartment owners. The most important thing in this situation is to enlist the support of the HOA - its representatives will not only help you figure out how to organize a meeting, but also explain what actions will help you gain the necessary support. As a rule, the partnership doesn't mind signs if the owner has done something useful for the whole house - for example, painted the entrance or helped organize a playground.
