Step 1

If you have a permanent job and are a conscientious taxpayer, you have the right to apply for a property deduction for the purchase, construction of housing or for the acquisition of a land plot for individual housing construction.

Only that part of the funds that was transferred as taxes on your income is returned, but not more than 13%, calculated from a maximum amount of 2 million rubles. If your home is significantly more expensive, it is not possible to issue an income tax refund for the remainder.

Step 3

Each owner will receive that part of the maximum deduction amount, in accordance with which his share of ownership is formalized, and only if the due amount was previously withheld from him. This means that if the acquired housing is registered for two owners, each has the right to apply for a property deduction, the amount of which will not exceed 130 thousand rubles.

Step 4

You can receive the deduction in non-cash form or the funds will be transferred to your bank account. For a non-cash deduction, which provides for exemption of the taxpayer from paying income tax, apply immediately after purchase. Less in cash, apply one year after purchasing your home.

Step 5

Submit an application to the territorial tax office, fill out a declaration, present a certificate of income. You will need to confirm the purchase. To do this, you must present a certificate of ownership, payment documents confirming payment, a loan agreement, if the housing is issued in a mortgage, a bank account number, if you plan to return the tax in cash.

Step 6

Refunds are made 30 days from the date of your request after a full verification of the information and documents provided.
