Surely many of them have come across Internet scammers at least once. Do not be surprised how they know your number, because you probably left it many times when registering on sites, for webinars, in store profiles, or selling something on sites. And it is not difficult to buy a database of phone numbers.

Consider ways of phone fraud.

1. Introduce yourself as a friend of a relative who is in trouble and urgently needs money

This is perhaps the most "ancient" method of fraudsters, now it is practically not used, because everyone already knows about it. The bottom line is simple: the fraudster introduces himself as a person from a relative who got into a difficult situation (hit a person, got into the police, etc.), and he urgently needs money that needs to be deposited into the account. The effectiveness of this method is not very high, since the fraudster cannot know for sure whether a relative is present at home or not, so he has to act at random. And only the lazy does not know about this method.

2. Call and drop

You see an unfamiliar unanswered number, call back, and immediately a certain amount of money is withdrawn from your account. As a rule, the amount is insignificant, about 50-100 rubles. In this case, you can simply fill in an unfamiliar number in a search engine and see what they write. People usually leave comments on fraudulent numbers.

3. Report a big win

Usually such messages come by e-mail, but they can also call. It could be a big win or even an inheritance from an unknown millionaire relative that you didn't know about before. "Benefactors" are in a hurry to inform you about this. It already depends on the imagination of the scammers and their creativity. Some people come up with whole stories, even offer to send documents. Then you have to pay a certain amount to the "lawyers" or just send an SMS to the specified number. Most likely, this needs to be done very urgently so that you do not have time to change your mind or get a number on the Internet.

If you believe in miracles or have recently really taken part in any lottery, then ask the caller for all the details: the official name, website address. And of course, check the phone number in a search engine.

4. Bank representatives

This is the most common type of fraud now and the most effective and efficient for them. They tell you in a serious voice that this is the security service of your bank, since we have only a couple of banks where the majority of the population has a deposit or a card, it is not at all difficult to guess. Then again, it depends on the creativity of the scammers. They can simply "verify the card details", or report that they tried to commit fraudulent actions on your card and urgently need to protect you. The psychological factor plays a role here, you switch that someone tried to deceive you, and do not think that a real scammer is calling. They have one goal: to find out the full number, the validity period of your card and, preferably, a three-digit code on the back. They can be very convincing and, again, talk about the urgency of action, so that imaginary "scammers" do not withdraw the rest of the money from your card. The most advanced, after finding out all the data, make purchases and ask you to name the code that came in the SMS, ostensibly to protect your data.

How to recognize a fraudster: firstly, no one, even a representative of your bank, will be interested in the three-digit code and SMS code. Secondly, you can always call the bank yourself. If the caller is very convincing and you believed him, ask him for his last name and first name and specify his position in the bank.

Always be careful with those who call from unknown numbers, and your money will be safe.
