The optimal formation and rational use of the means of production included in the material and technical base of the enterprise are an important condition for its effective economic activity. The composition of these means of production is determined and depends on the type of economic activity in which this enterprise is engaged.
What is the material and technical base
In the language of economists, the material and technical base of an enterprise is an element of the productive forces, on the basis of which production relations are formed between the subjects of the production process. In fact, it is a complex of means of production, material and material elements, necessary to ensure the activities of the enterprise.
The material and technical base has a natural and cost composition. The part of it that has a natural expression, depending on the type of activity, may include means and objects of labor: tools, machinery and equipment, production buildings and auxiliary structures, perennial plantings, raw materials, building materials, seed fund, working and productive livestock, feed, etc. The value may vary depending on the degree of wear and tear. The elements of the material and technical base are assembled taking into account their use in a particular technological process.
The concept of a material and technical base takes into account not only the presence and composition of components, but also their condition: technical characteristics and suitability of production facilities, the age of machines, tools and equipment, the correspondence of the available material resources to the production cycle used at the enterprise.
The composition of the material and technical base
As already mentioned, it depends on the type of activity of the enterprise. For example, for a hotel company, the material and technical base will include:
- all existing buildings and structures for administrative, industrial, economic, technical and auxiliary purposes;
- engineering systems, including sewerage, water supply, ventilation and air conditioning; lifts and lifts; radio and television systems, telephone and alarm systems, fire extinguishing;
- elements of the infrastructure of the hotel industry located on its territory: sidewalks, driveways, flower beds, perennial plantings, playgrounds for sports games and children's playgrounds, as well as swimming pools, fountains, piers, etc.
If an enterprise is engaged in the production of agricultural products, its material and technical base will consist of material and technical resources and technical means - machines and mechanisms. Material and technical resources can include: feed, seed material, fattening animals, fuel and fuels and lubricants, etc.
