Instructions
Step 1
When citizens cross the border of the Russian Federation and transport any types of goods, the requirements set forth by the rules for the import and export of goods must be observed. These rules apply depending on whether the citizen is a natural person or the imported / exported goods are associated with the occupation of this citizen by entrepreneurial activity. The difference in rules is primarily due to the need to pay customs duties.
Step 2
According to the rules that came into force on 1.07.2010, individuals, when importing goods into the country, are completely exempt from any customs duties if they comply with certain conditions for the goods:
-It is carried in accompanied / unaccompanied baggage;
-it is not intended for commercial or industrial activities;
- total weight no more than 50 kg;
-total cost not more than 1500 euros according to the exchange rate of the Central Bank of Russia on the day of import.
Step 3
Separate requirements relate to the import of alcoholic beverages (no more than 3 liters) and tobacco products (no more than 250 grams) for each person.
Step 4
Import and export of currency is not declared if the amount of money in cash in any currency does not exceed the equivalent of 10 thousand US dollars. If there is a larger amount on hand, a customs declaration must be drawn up for it (the contents of bank cards are not subject to declaration).
Step 5
For private entrepreneurs importing goods for commercial activities, the rules for payment of state duties and compliance with the measures of the economic policy of the Russian Federation have been established. The carrier is obliged to deliver the goods to one of the legally established checkpoints (may be different for different types of goods) and present a package of documents for customs control, which depends, among other things, on the transport by which the goods are transported.
