Today's Russian realities are such that anyone who has a desire and a certain amount of money (about eight hundred thousand dollars) can open their own theater. This is theory. And practice shows that in addition to this, you need to have an adventurous character and have an idea in your head that would distinguish your theater from hundreds of others.
Instructions
Step 1
First, think over the theater staff and hire staff. A very small theater needs at least forty people, including administration and actors.
Step 2
In addition to the administration and actors, do not forget to hire make-up artists, lighting workers, director, costume designer, etc. Remember that people can work part-time at first, this will help you avoid the hefty costs of paying benefits. It makes sense to invite specialists only to perform specific work (installation of the stage, scenery, make-up for the actors).
Step 3
It is expensive and not always profitable to have your own premises, so rent a stage in an existing educational theater, cultural center, educational institution, etc.
Step 4
In the contract, specify that not only performances will be staged in this room, but rehearsals will also take place.
Step 5
Pledge a certain amount (about thirty percent of the start-up capital) on advertising, as a new business will require promotion. Advertising can be both very expensive (television, newspapers, radio), and very even budgetary, for a very modest budget, you can simply post posters and advertisements.
Step 6
A free performance can be useful for any category of spectators: low-income, pensioners, children. Remember that even for a very good performance, a room occupancy of ninety percent is an excellent indicator.
Step 7
It is much cheaper to invest in an entreprise. In such a performance, lightweight scenery, a small number of actors (five to six) are involved. As a rule, there is only one star among them. With a successful combination of circumstances, the entreprise pays off in a few months.
