Any pension payments are indexed by the state almost annually. People who receive a survivor's pension are not spared either. How will these payments change in 2018?
The loss of a loved one always brings great changes in the life of any person. Therefore, in order to solve some of the financial problems associated with the loss of a breadwinner, the state pays a monthly allowance to children, their guardians and elderly parents. Moreover, such a pension is due to the older generation of the family of the deceased, if he was the only person who could take care of the elderly parents. There are three types of survivor's pension: insurance, state and social.
An insurance pension is paid if the deceased has officially worked for at least one day.
To whom the insurance pension is paid in 2018:
- children under 18 years old or under 23 years old if they are studying full-time at an educational institution
- parents of the deceased person in the absence of other guardians for them upon reaching retirement age
- guardians who are responsible for the children of the deceased person
- the spouse of the deceased in the event of his disability.
To whom the social and state pension is paid:
- the same people as the insurance pension, in the absence of work experience for the deceased
- widows of military personnel killed in the line of military duty
- family members of deceased citizens who are liquidators of the Chernobyl accident or during other man-made disasters.
And also some other groups of citizens who have lost their breadwinner.
As for the increase in the survivor's pension in 2018, it will be indexed in the same way as other government payments. The insurance pension was increased from January 1, and social benefits will be increased from April 1, 2018 by 4.1%. No further increase in pensions is expected this year.
