The 1,000 ruble banknote is the most dangerous in terms of counterfeiting, but more recently it is also the most secure banknote in the world, thanks to enhanced security options on the new banknotes. You can check whether a genuine 1,000 ruble bill is in your hands in two ways: visual and hardware.

Instructions

Step 1

The Bank of Russia recommends remembering several main security features of a real banknote to determine the authenticity of a banknote using the visual method and check them when receiving money in your hands. It will be enough to check the bill for 3-5 security features.

Step 2

On the 1000-ruble banknotes of the old and new designs, there is micro-perforation of the “1000” symbols. Check for its presence by touch. A real banknote in the place of perforation is perfectly smooth; on a fake one, this place will most likely be rough.

Step 3

Another distinctive feature of a real bill, which is quite simple to remember, is the edges of the exit of the metallized security thread on the surface of the bill. On a fake one, they will be uneven, a little rough, since usually here the thread is simply glued on top of the paper. On a real bill, the security thread dives, comes out to the surface in five sections.

Step 4

The third important feature of this banknote is its watermark (portrait of Yaroslav the Wise) supplemented with a light watermark "1000", lighter than paper. The security fibers embedded in the paper are of two types on this bill - two-color and gray.

Step 5

New bills from 2010 in 1000 rubles on the emblem of the city of Yaroslavl have a green optically variable magnetic paint. On it, when the angle of view changes, a shiny strip moves.

Step 6

Pay attention to the hidden image of the letters "PP" (the so-called kipp effect). If the banknote is viewed at an acute angle to the surface, against the light, these letters will be visible on its ornamental ribbon. On banknotes of various years of issue, they can be light on a dark or dark on a light background.

Step 7

You can find out whether you have a real 1,000-ruble bill using the hardware method for checking banknotes. The most reliable of all modern devices today are infrared devices. Contact any bank branch to check banknotes on such hardware installations if you are in doubt about money. Or purchase a similar device for personal use.
