So, you have received a universal electronic card, a card reader with instructions for use and a certificate of the electronic signature verification key. Only it is not yet quite clear what to do with all this.

It is necessary

  • - PC;
  • - UEC;
  • - card reader;
  • - access to the Internet;
  • - card reader driver;
  • - electronic signature key certificate.

Instructions

Step 1

Usually, most card readers are PnP devices, i.e. they do not require the installation of special drivers for their work. So, at least, the manufacturers say. In general, this is so, but for the correct operation of your reader together with the UEC, it is best to install a special utility. This will allow in the future to avoid some mistakes when working with CryptoPro and websites of state and municipal services.

Step 2

Determine the model of your reader - it is indicated on the label on the back of the reader - for example, ACR38 or similar. Go to the manufacturer's website using the link below. Select your device model from the list on the left side of the window.

Step 3

A window with a description of your reader and several tabs will open in front of you. Go to the Downloads tab (last). A table with different versions of reader drivers for different operating systems will open. Select the driver installer suitable for your OS, download and install the program.

Step 4

Run the installed application (for ACR card readers it is called ACS Analyze ATR, for other models see the "Operating Instructions" issued by the bank). Connect the card reader to the computer and wait for it to be installed in the system. Ignore possible system messages about driver installation errors - this will not interfere with work.

Step 5

In the upper window of the program, in the Card Status field, you will see a message about the status of your card - Removed. Now insert your UEC into the reader. The state of the card should change sequentially to In Use -> Inserted. Depending on the version of the device and, accordingly, the driver, the specific designations may slightly differ.

Step 6

Now in the Manual Input ATR: field, enter the Subject Key ID sequence from the X.509 Certificate Extensions group specified in your validation key certificate and click the Analyze button. After the program processes this sequence of characters, you no longer have to deal with such errors of UEC, CryptoPro and other applications, such as "key container not found", "initialization not completed", etc.
