A trade mark (logo, trademark) gives its owner certain material advantages and creates a high reputation for him. It also allows you to distinguish among the goods and manufacturers a certain product, the properties and quality of which are known in advance.
It is necessary
- - sketches;
- - focus group;
- - a computer;
- - application for a trademark.
Instructions
Step 1
To obtain a trademark, contact a law firm: they already have the necessary experience and connections, which will help speed up the procedure for obtaining your logo. If there is no way to ask lawyers for help, register the trademark yourself.
Step 2
Establish how the product will be positioned on the market. In this regard, determine what elements you would like to see on your sign as a symbol of the company or industry. Make a series of sketches (or order from a designer friend). Choose two or three options that are closest to you. Offer them a choice in a focus group to find out which trademark other people would like to see.
Step 3
Check if the designations selected by the focus group are listed in the fund of trademarks registered in the Russian Federation. Also, search for the original designations in the Rospatent database. If you cannot do it yourself, contact the specialists on the Internet. The websites of legal organizations that provide their services for registering trademarks, in particular, for searching in databases, are widely represented on the network.
Step 4
Compare the selected sketches with the information found. If necessary, adjust the images to avoid resemblance to existing symbols.
Step 5
Prepare a trademark application. In this case, the name of the Applicant must correspond to that indicated in the Certificate of registration of a legal entity. Also, be prepared to provide the applicant's legal address (to indicate it in the title of protection) and the OKPO code.
Step 6
Submit the selected image (color or black and white) for registration as a trademark. Obtain a trademark protection certificate and legal confirmation of the validity of this certificate. Install a registered trademark on accounting as an intangible asset of the company.
