Since the number of unemployed is increasing now, it is more important than ever to know your rights and receive the benefits declared to them from the state.

If you are fired due to layoffs, you have the right to receive severance pay from your employer under article 178 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, and in addition, your organization is obliged to pay you an average salary for two months until you find a new job. If you worked in the Far North, in exceptional cases (this is decided by the body of the CPC, the employment center), you can be paid an average salary of up to six months.

A dismissed and / or unemployed citizen of Russia has the right to look for work both independently and through the bodies of the CPA, and this is free. It is necessary to register as an unemployed person, compose a resume and send it to the CPC. You will be provided with a list of suitable vacancies quickly enough.

Through the above-mentioned CPC, an unemployed citizen who could not find a suitable job is organized the payment of social benefits. The minimum allowance at the time of this writing (April 2020) is 1,500 rubles, the maximum is 12,130 rubles.

Further - according to the law of 1991-19-04 N 1032-1 (as amended on 2020-07-04) "On employment of the population in the Russian Federation", a citizen has the right to take part in public works and receive money for this. If you are not provided with vacancies, as a temporary measure you may be offered to earn at least some money in community service, and such work should not require prior training or retraining.

Little-known service number one: in accordance with the Employment Act, Art. 22.1, assistance in case of moving to work in another city. If you have not found a suitable vacancy in your city, and there is such a vacancy in another, you have the right to receive support for the move, including payment (or compensation) for travel to and from work, if the employer does not pay for it; payment (or compensation) of rental housing, if it is not paid by the employer; a one-time benefit in case of complete relocation to a new place of residence for employment. The time for the provision of such a service should not exceed 30 minutes according to the letter of the law, excluding the time for drawing up and signing an employment contract.
