Do-it-yourself things bring us the most joy. It is very simple to please yourself and your friends - the lace weaving technique requires certain skills, but it opens up an endless field for imagination and creativity. Two-tone laces can become both a bright accessory for a mobile phone or a bag, or an independent decoration, turning into a bracelet or summer necklace.

It is necessary

  • - four threads of two different colors,
  • - pin,
  • - beads, sequins, pendants.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose two types of thread, light and dark, or in contrasting colors. Blue goes well with orange, red with green, and purple with yellow. An interesting effect is the use of two different types of threads, provided that they are the same thickness. Woolen threads and floss go well with a wide leather or rubber cord folded in half or three times with satin ribbons or beads. Don't be afraid to experiment! You can even use laces for shoes in rich colors or made of fluorescent materials that will glow in the dark. If you use laces with a pattern, then pair them with plain threads.

Step 2

Take two light threads (of the same color) and two dark threads (of a different color). Secure them together with a safety pin or by tying a knot at the end.

Step 3

Put one dark (same color) thread in the front and the second dark thread in the back. One light (different color) thread on the left side, the second light on the right.

Step 4

Swap the dark threads counterclockwise.

Step 5

Swap the light threads counterclockwise, while intertwining them between the dark ones. Thus, the first dark thread that you originally put in front is under the intertwined light ones, and the second dark thread is above them.

Step 6

Swap the dark threads so that the light ones still remain to the left and right of them. Then swap the light threads and move on in this way. Try not to pull the threads too tight, or the cord will come out too thin and uneven. In this case, a certain tension must be maintained so that gaps between the hinges do not appear. Then the work will look sloppy.

Step 7

The finished cord should be flat, tight and round. If kinking occurs, knead the lace between your fingers or roll it between your palms. Now it remains only to decorate the cord with pendants, large beads or sequins.
