Step 1
Think about what kind of wholesale trade you want to do. Collect as much information as possible, for this, conduct a marketing analysis, identify consumer demand.

Decide on what target audience you can count on. That is, what categories of consumers can use the products you offer. It depends on a number of factors: market saturation, the level of your prices, service, convenience for customers (location of your office, store, warehouse). Try to attract the attention of the most profitable customers (small wholesalers, store owners). Make every effort to establish good relations with them, to interest them in cooperation with you. Pay particular attention to the range of products offered. It is good when the range is extensive, diverse, but on the other hand, a wide range requires high costs, which do not always pay off quickly (some product may be stale, for example). Therefore, the basis of the nomenclature should be the most popular and profitable product groups.

Choose your suppliers carefully. Do not chase after cheapness, as in some cases it is a consequence of poor quality.

The price level for your products should not be higher than the market average, as this will scare off the bulk of the clientele. On the contrary, whenever possible, try to keep them cheaper than the competition. Even if the difference is purely symbolic, it attracts clients well from the point of view of psychology.

Find qualified personnel. Remember that the profitability of your business will largely depend on how politely the employees talk to customers, how confidently and intelligently they answer their questions. It is also very important for customers how quickly they will be served (they will complete all the documents, load the car). Therefore, try to keep the office and warehouse close to each other in a convenient location.
Step 7
Be sure to think over a motivation system. Regular and most profitable customers should be provided with discounts on selling prices or deferred payment. Your task: to ensure that they are satisfied with the cooperation and do not look for another supplier.
