Step 1
If possible, check the questionable bill with a special device. To do this, place it under a UV lamp. In addition to the watermarks, you should see fine colored fibers spread over the entire area of the bill.
Step 2
Find the perforation on the note. With its help, a drawing of small holes is applied to the paper, indicating the denomination of the bill.
Step 3
Check for the presence of a metal thread. It should run across the banknote across from the groan of the left or right edge, depending on the denomination of the note. If under normal conditions the thread will look like small rectangles, then in the light it should be a continuous ribbon.
Step 4
Examine the features of the paint on the bill. On banknotes in denominations of five hundred rubles or more, individual elements are highlighted with paint with a change of color, for example, the coat of arms of the depicted city. Also, a special shaded strip, which is on the money of all denominations, can also change color. Colored lines should also appear on it when the angle of inclination is changed.
Step 5
Find watermarks on the bill. They should include the denomination of your banknote, as well as part of the main image visible on the paper.
