The transport tax was introduced in Russia in 2003 as part of the tax reform. Since then, cars, motorcycles, buses, airplanes, helicopters, motor ships, yachts and other vehicles are suitable for taxation purposes. And every year their owners need to pay a certain tax to the state treasury. And you can easily calculate it yourself.

How to find out the amount of vehicle tax

It is necessary

  • To calculate the tax you will need:
  • - technical passport for the vehicle;
  • - writing instrument;
  • - a sheet of paper.

Instructions

Step 1

The tax office sends out notification letters every year. They contain a reminder letter to pay the vehicle tax, invoice and receipt for payment. Sometimes such a letter comes as a surprise to vehicle owners. After all, sometimes they don't even know how much they have to pay. Therefore, so that such letters do not become an unpleasant surprise, the tax amount can be calculated in advance using a special formula.

Step 2

The formula is quite simple and looks like this: the horsepower of the vehicle is multiplied by a certain tax rate. For each type of car, according to article 361 for a car with a capacity of 140 "horses", 4200 rubles will have to be paid to the tax. Because the tax rate for cars with a capacity of 100 to 150 horsepower is 30. Accordingly, the more power a car has, the more it costs its owner. And not only in the content, but also in the payment of tax.

Step 3

When paying tax, the main thing to remember is that the tax office gives a certain time to pay this debt to the state. If, on the appointed day, the required amount is not received on the accounts of the state, then the tax authority has the right to apply a system of penalties and fines in the form of calculating penalties. And this will increase the debt exponentially every day.
