Instructions
Step 1
Decide for what purpose you are going to open a non-profit organization. Its name and type depend on the nature of the activity that it conducts. Remember that the list of types of non-profit organizations mentioned in the Federal Law "On Non-Commercial Organizations" is open, therefore, you have the right to open an organization of another type not specified in the law.
Step 2
Depending on the type of non-profit organization, develop its constituent documents. This can be done either independently or by entrusting a law firm. You can learn about what constituent documents are required for certain types of non-profit organizations from the Federal Law "On Non-Commercial Organizations" (Chapter 2).
Step 3
No later than within three months from the date of the decision to create a non-profit organization, you must submit the following documents to the territorial body of the Ministry of Justice for its registration:
1. application for registration;
2. constituent documents (3 copies);
3. decision to create an organization;
4. documents on founders (2 copies);
5. receipt of payment of the state registration fee;
6. information about the address of the organization.
In certain cases, other documents specified in the legislation may be required from you.
Step 4
After submitting the documents, you need to wait 14 days - during this time the authorized body will decide on the possibility of registering your non-profit organization. If the decision is positive, within five days the body of information and documents necessary to carry out the functions of maintaining the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRLE) are sent to the tax office. Within three days, the tax office must issue you a certificate of state registration. From the date indicated in the certificate, the non-profit organization can be considered open.
