An increasing percentage of the Russian population actively uses plastic cards, including those issued within the MasterCard payment system. Indeed, it’s convenient - you can pay with a card in many stores, make purchases on the Internet, withdraw cash at any time. Nevertheless, the issue of security of payments remains a serious issue, because misuse of the card can result in loss of money. To prevent this from happening, you need to know the correct card payment method.

It is necessary

  • - bank card MasterCard;
  • - passport.

Instructions

Step 1

Memorize the card code by heart before using the card for payment. This is necessary to ensure security - if, in the event of a card theft, the code also gets to unauthorized persons, you may lose money in your account.

Step 2

When paying in a store, check with the seller or cashier if they accept bank cards of your payment system at the checkout. Also check if the terminal for card payments is working today - sometimes a situation arises that the store, which usually accepts cards for payment, cannot do this due to the lack of communication with the bank.

Step 3

Give the card to the cashier. Further, various actions are possible depending on the type of terminal used by a particular store. In a number of stores, you will be given a terminal for you to insert the card into it yourself. After that, you will have to enter the pin-code of the card. If the code is correct, the payment will be completed. The terminal will print two receipts, one of which the seller will give you as confirmation of payment. Don't forget to pick up your card.

Step 4

Other stores use terminals of a different system. In this case, you do not enter a pin code, instead you must sign a receipt for the withdrawal of funds from your card. In turn, the seller also signs the check.

When making a large purchase, you may also be asked to provide proof of identity. In this case, show your passport to the cashier when paying for the goods.

Step 5

When buying via the Internet, enter the surname, name and patronymic of the cardholder in the appropriate fields on the website. If the card is unnamed, write Cardholder instead of the last name. After that, indicate the card number in full and without spaces, the card expiration date (indicated on the front side in the lower right corner) and the CV2 code, which you can find on the back of the card next to your signature. It consists of three digits and serves to protect your data in case of payment.

Step 6

Before sending your data, check the amount to be debited. It should correspond to the cost of the product you have chosen.

If everything is correct, click on the "Submit" or "Confirm payment" button. After that, the payment will be made and the specified amount will be debited from your account.
