Karting is a sports micro-car without suspension, which is very popular among young people who are actively involved in motorsport. Often, self-made kart racers take part in such competitions, and this is doubly honorable.
Instructions
Step 1
Those who are eager to build this small fast sports car should be well aware of its characteristics. So, the wheelbase (longitudinal distance between the axles) should be in the range from 1010 to 1220 mm with a total maximum length of 1320 mm. Kart wheel diameter - no more than 350 mm.
Step 2
Make the size of the go-kart track within 2/3 of the wheelbase. Install an exclusively air-cooled, two-stroke, single-cylinder engine for go-kart racing with commercial grade gasoline without any additives. At least two wheels must be involved in the braking system. The control system is a traditional automobile control system with a round steering wheel.
Step 3
Adjust the width of the platform to match the width of the frame and the length to match the distance from the pedals to the seat. In the design of the go-kart, provide special rails that prevent the legs from sliding off the platform, and make the seat so that the driver does not move to the side when cornering. A special protective device must protect it from possible burns on the engine.
Step 4
Cover separate parts of the transmission with a special shield for half of the gear wheel. Please note that the capacity of the fuel tank must not exceed 5 liters. Fasten it securely and close it in such a way as to completely eliminate the possibility of fuel ejection.
Step 5
Cotter elements of the chassis and steering without fail. It is allowed to use ignition systems, carburetors of any type (both domestic and imported) and shockproof means.
Step 6
It is forbidden to use bodies and fairings, differentials and similar mechanisms, steering with worm, chain, cable or gear drives, blowers and fuel injection, as well as pedals that, when pressed, go beyond the dimensions of the frame.
