Instructions
Step 1
To get information about a particular synthetic account, use the chart of accounts of accounting. Be sure to use the edition with the latest changes.
Step 2
There are more than seven dozen synthetic accounts, each of which has its own number. These accounts are divided into 8 sections: non-current assets, inventories, finished goods and goods, production costs, cash, calculations, financial results, capital.
Step 3
To determine from which group you need to open an account, just look at the operation. For example, you paid a vendor for an item using a checking account. Thus, you have transferred the funds. This means that you need to put a synthetic account for the loan from the "Cash" section. There are 7 accounts here, one of which is called “Current accounts”.
Step 4
On the debit, indicate where the money went. Open the section "Settlements", find account 60 "Settlements with suppliers and contractors", so you need to specify it.
Step 5
To determine where to point this or that synthetic account - on debit or on credit - again, pay attention to the business transaction and understand the essence of the movement. For example, you purchased a fixed asset from a vendor. You have arrived as a part of non-current assets, that is, you have invested. Thus, in the debit put the account 08, because your operation went "plus". But at the same time, you owe the supplier, that is, there is a debt. That is, the amount on the loan has increased, here put the score 60.
Step 6
You can open sub-accounts for synthetic accounts, which provide more detailed information on operations. For example, in the above example, you can open subaccount 4 "Acquisition of fixed assets" to account 08.
Step 7
For more accurate information on business information, use analytical accounts that can be opened in the context of synthetic accounts. For example, in the above example for account 60, open an account in which exactly the counterparty with whom the transaction was made will be indicated.
