In 2011, at the legislative level, transport tax rates were set lower than in previous periods. However, since the constituent entities of the Russian Federation can change these coefficients, the amount of transport tax payable is different in different regions of our country.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure your vehicle is tax deductible. For example, vehicles specially equipped for disabled people with engine power up to 100 horsepower, which were obtained with the help of social protection bodies in the manner prescribed by law, are not subject to transport tax.
Step 2
Check your vehicle title or vehicle registration certificate to find out what the horsepower of your car's engine is. The law sets tax rates based on engine power. For cars with a capacity of up to 100 horsepower, this rate is 2.5 rubles, for cars with a capacity of 101 to 150 - 3.5 rubles, from 151 to 200 - 5 rubles, from 201 to 250 - 7.5 rubles, over 250 horsepower forces - 15 rubles. These rates came into force in January 2011, previously they were twice as high. The vehicle tax is calculated by multiplying the specified rate by the horsepower of the vehicle.
Step 3
Remember that the statutory tax rates can be changed by regions up or down, but no more than 10 times. So, for example, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory since 2011, the following rates have been in effect: power up to 100 horsepower - 6 rubles, from 101 to 150 - 18 rubles, from 151 to 200 - 36 rubles, from 201 to 250 - 63, 5 rubles, over 250 - 127 rubles. Find out on the official website of the Office of the Federal Tax Service for your region the size of the coefficients established by local legislation.
Step 4
Multiply the coefficient found, corresponding to the power of your car, by the amount of horsepower prescribed in the TCP. For example, for a 77-horsepower Fiat Doblo Panorama, registered in Krasnoyarsk, the amount of transport tax will be 462 rubles.
