Give up your car altogether and start using public transport. This is one of the easiest ways to reduce transport tax. Despite the banality of such a solution to the problem, if you take into account the huge traffic jams and the constant increase in the transport tax by the metropolitan and regional authorities, together with the rise in gasoline prices, then this method can be quite profitable.
Step 2
Deregister the vehicle. In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia dated January 27, 2003 No. 59, the car will not be subject to taxation. But remember that in case of delay in transit numbers, you will have to pay a fine for an administrative offense. Therefore, you will need to constantly re-register the vehicle. Also remember that cars on transit numbers are more susceptible to theft and, most likely, you will have to constantly park your car in a guarded parking lot, which will “hit” your pocket.
Step 3
Find out if you qualify for the category of citizens who are subject to preferential transport tax. If you are a disabled person of I or II groups and the engine power of your car is less than 100 hp. or more than 15 years have passed since its release, then you are exempt from paying transport tax. Heroes of the Soviet Union, the Russian Federation and full holders of the Order of Glory are also exempted from paying transport tax.

Reduce engine power in the prescribed manner. Remember that if you decide to reduce vehicle tax in this way, it is necessary that your car has a serial analogue with an engine of lower power and similar environmental performance.
