Step 1
Decide in what currency you want to open an account. Banks provide services for servicing accounts in rubles, euros and dollars. If you plan to pay for goods and services within the country, it makes sense to open a ruble account, for European transactions - in euros. In any case, you can use a debit card with an account opened in rubles in any store in the world that accepts this payment method, just the amount will be debited from the account based on the internal rate of the bank.
Step 2
Select MasterCard or Visa - the payment system in which you want to be serviced. They are both equally good for paying for goods and services in Russia when opening a ruble account, but when traveling abroad, the bank charges different interest for paying the bill in a currency different from the one in which the account was opened. For trips to Europe, it is preferable to open a MasterCard, and for trips to the United States - Visa, since in the first case, currency conversion goes through the euro, and in the second - through the dollar.
Step 3
Contact the bank you trust with a request to issue debit cards in your name, which allow you to accumulate bonuses when paying for goods and services of partner companies. Fill out an application in the established form for the issue of a card, sign, provide your passport to a bank employee. Visit the bank at the agreed time and pick up the made card. Remember the pin code and do not tell anyone, even bank employees.
Step 4
Fill out an application for issuing a debit card on the website of the selected bank on-line, if such opportunities are provided there. Scan the first page of your passport and attach it to your application. The system will inform you at what time you can pick up the issued card at the bank's office.
