Wages are the remuneration of an employee for work. (Part 1 of Article 129 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation) Each employer, when issuing wages to an employee, must strictly follow the rules prescribed in the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. The payment of wages, like all other labor relations, is regulated by an employment contract.

Step 1

Salary is calculated monthly, and its payment must be made at least twice a month. The payment term is prescribed in the labor or collective agreement. At the same time, any agreements between the employee and the employer, which stipulate the deadlines for receiving a salary once a month, have no legal force.

Step 2

Wages are paid to the employee in cash twice a month, but the law allows the payment of wages by postal order or by check. Such methods of paying salaries should be spelled out in the contract. In this case, the check is transferred to the employee in such a way that he can cash out the money before the 10th.

Step 3

If the due date for the payment of wages coincides with a weekend or a public holiday, the payment is made the day before.

Step 4

With the consent of the employee, part of the salary can be paid in groceries or by providing accommodation. Moreover, the cost of such services should not exceed their market value. Such a replacement is also prescribed in the employment contract.

Step 5

The payment of wages should be preceded by the issuance of a pay slip to the employee, which indicates both all the components of the payment due to the employee and all deductions. In addition, the final amount to be handed out is indicated. The formation of the payroll is regulated by 1-2 Art. 136 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.

Step 6

According to the law, the salary is issued personally to the employee, who is obliged to sign the statement. However, the employee can issue an appropriate instruction according to which the payment of salaries is made to persons determined by law: spouse, parents, colleagues, children, a bank or other agreed organization.

Step 7

If the employee dies before receiving the next salary, the entire amount due to him should be received by the person noted in the corresponding employee instruction. In the absence of an indication, the salary is paid to the spouse of the deceased or to his heirs.

Step 8

Wages are paid to employees directly at the workplace no later than 2 hours after the end of the next shift. When working on the second or third shift, an employee can receive wages at the same time as the first shift.
