Labor and military veterans are legally entitled to receive social support from the state to pay for utilities and housing. These benefits are provided to veterans in the form of monthly compensation payments. Compensation does not come automatically with retirement, so you need to go through some registration procedures.

Step 1
Check out the regulations of your regional government on how veterans can receive social support. As a rule, these regulatory data are the same everywhere, but there are some differences, for example, in the terms of submission of documents.
Step 2
Contact the organization that calculates payments for housing payments at the place of residence. Get a calculation of the amount of monthly payments for the total living area of a communal apartment or house area.
Step 3
Next, go to the company that calculates utility bills, where you will receive a document that will indicate the amount of payments or which will confirm the costs incurred. Make sure that the received certificates are certified by the signature of the head and the seal of the organization.
Step 4
Submit to the social protection authorities located at the place of residence, a package of documents for receiving compensation payments. Fill out the application, make a copy of your passport or other identity document, as well as a copy of your pension certificate and veteran's certificate.
Step 5
Get a certificate indicating the number of people registered in this dwelling. Provide documentary legal grounds according to which the persons living with the veteran on the same living space are members of his family. Make a copy of the veteran's home ownership documents. Submit the certificates received for the payment of utilities and for the dwelling.
Step 6
Get a decision on the veteran's compensation. Consideration of the appointment takes place within one month after the date of submission of the application to the body of social protection of the population. To receive compensation, submit receipts for payment of utility bills to the social welfare body within the prescribed time frame.
