Instructions
Step 1
In the event of an accident, call and report it to the insurance company. Specify how the damage assessment is carried out. This can be done at the scene of the accident by a representative of the insurance company or at its location. As a rule, a notice is attached to the OSAGO policy. Complete this document. If the culprit of the accident is the second participant in the accident, check with him the policy number, the name of the insurance company. Notify the insurer of the culprit about the incident. Moreover, 15 days are allotted for this.
Step 2
In the event of an incident, a traffic police inspector draws up a protocol on an administrative offense. Read the document, ask to clarify your rights and responsibilities. Then sign the protocol. If at the time of the accident the inspector imposed a fine on you, you will be issued a receipt. It is included in the list of documents that must be submitted to the insurance company.
Step 3
Request a certificate from the traffic police (for this, traffic police use form 748). The document specifies the essence of the incident, place, time, as well as information about the participants in the accident. The certificate is signed by an official, certified by a seal.
Step 4
Contact your insurance company. Show your passport, car documentation, accident certificate, protocol, receipts for payment of expenses in connection with the damage. The representative of the insurance company draws up a statement. The document is written on your behalf. As a rule, a damage assessment is carried out by the insured. But you have the right to involve independent experts on your own initiative. The insurance company must reimburse the amount specified in the application within 30 days from the date you submit the documentation in person or by mail with acknowledgment of receipt.
Step 5
When reimbursing a smaller amount, you have the right to write a claim against the insurance organization, settle the dispute out of court. Moreover, an independent assessment carried out by you at your own expense is paid by the insurer. All costs associated with the evacuation of vehicles (if any), with treatment due to an accident, expertise and other types of damage prescribed by law are reimbursed by the insurance company in full.
