The District Court of California, USA, decided to prohibit the sale of Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computers to the South Korean company Samsung Electronics in the country. Thus, Apple's claim against its competitor was satisfied.

The essence of the lawsuit was that Samsung Electronics used patents owned by Apple in the manufacture of the computer. Representatives of the American company told reporters that the products of the South Korean manufacturer appeared on the market later and are in many ways similar to the iPad and iPhone.

Apple employee Christine Hughet said Samsung's tablet computers, which followed Apple's computers, mimic not only the packaging and shape, but also the interface of American products.

However, the leadership of the South Korean firm believes that the proceedings over the appearance of electronic devices could limit the future availability of high-tech products and cause a slowdown in growth.

The current trial is not the first. At the end of 2011, Apple already filed a similar lawsuit. Then Judge Lucy Koch rejected it - the American company could not prove the seriousness of the damage caused to their business by patent infringement. Now, after reviewing the case at the behest of a federal appeals court, Koch said Apple had presented solid evidence that it had no doubts about.

The court's decision will come into force after the American company submits a document stating that $ 2.6 million has been reserved on its account. This is the amount Apple will be obliged to pay as compensation to cover the legal costs of Samsung Electronics, if the latter appeals the decision of the California court and proves its case. The South Korean company is not going to give up. But until a new court ruling appears, sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 have been suspended.

In the fall of 2011, Apple has already secured a ban on the sale of these tablet computers in Germany. To date, 12 courts are engaged in this issue in 9 countries of the world. In Australia, for example, the court accepted Samsung's arguments.
