The word "tender" is widely used in modern Russian, although it is of English origin (to tend - to serve). Today, the economic content of this term has almost completely replaced its other meanings, and therefore it makes sense to remember what can be called a "tender".

Instructions

Step 1

In nautical navigation, tender means a type of single-mast sailboat, a type of flat-bottomed motor boat, and an additional small auxiliary craft aboard a large vessel.

Step 2

A trailer for a steam locomotive is also called a tender, if anyone remembers what it is. A supply of fuel and water was transported in such a trailer. It was located just behind the locomotive engine.

In the modern world, tender has another important and most widespread meaning. Tender means competitive tendering, which is carried out to determine the optimal supplier of a particular product, goods, services (a tender).

Step 3

And although there is no term tender in Russian legislation, it is increasingly used to refer to open or closed tenders or competitions. In particular, all government contracts for the purchase of goods or the performance of any work are awarded to the winners of tenders, which are held on the principles of fair competition.

Tenders are one-stage and two-stage, open or closed.

Two-stage tenders are carried out for the procurement of complex products or services. At the first stage, the customer studies the proposals of the tenderers and formulates specific requirements for the order. At the second stage, there is a selection of suppliers that satisfy the customer both with the quality of the goods and services provided, and with their price.

Step 4

Open tenders are held to place an order for the supply of goods, works, services that meet quality requirements, delivery times and price criteria. All companies wishing to take part in them are allowed to open bidding, which have submitted an application for participation in time and have correctly completed it. Open competitions are held both at the state level and in individual cities and companies.

Step 5

Closed tenders are arranged when purchasing highly specialized goods for defense needs or when placing orders of state interest in research centers and laboratories.

Tenders, as a fair resolution of disputes in the struggle for a customer, are increasingly used in the global economy. This allows the development of truly conscientious companies, as well as avoiding manifestations of corruption and deception.
