A bank card (debit or credit) is an extremely convenient thing. It is much easier to store money on a card than in a wallet, besides, holders of plastic cards often have the opportunity to receive discounts by paying with them. The process of obtaining a bank card is quite simple.
It is necessary
- passport;
- money for opening an account (in some cases).
Instructions
Step 1
To receive a debit card, you need to fill out a card issuance application. In most banks, this can be done via the Internet by going to the appropriate section of the site. You can order a card on your own via the Internet only if you are sure exactly which card you need. If you are not familiar with the tariffs provided by the bank, then it is better to contact the branch, where they will explain everything to you in detail.
Step 2
Today there are two most popular international payment systems: Visa and MasterCard. First you need to decide which one to choose. In essence, if you are not going to leave the borders of Russia, then there is no difference. But when traveling abroad, there are some nuances. Both systems are international, you can find terminals that support them in almost any country, however, for Visa, the US dollar is the main currency, and for MasterCard - the dollar and euro. It turns out that for a trip to Europe it is more convenient to get yourself a MasterCard.
Step 3
You can make a card at any branch of the bank you are interested in. The only exception is Sberbank, in which cards are issued to citizens only in those branches that correspond to the place of registration. You give your passport to the bank operator, he fills out all the necessary documents. When everything is filled in, be sure to check all personal details. If you find an error, immediately ask to fix it.
Step 4
In some banks, the card and account are made for the client free of charge, and in some you need to pay a certain amount for services. If you need to pay for the card at your bank, then go to the cashier and make the payment. After everything is filled in, paid and verified, the bank employees will inform you exactly when you can pick up the finished card. Sometimes the client receives information that the card is ready by phone (in the form of a call from an operator or an SMS message).
Step 5
In order to receive the card on the appointed day, you also need to take your passport with you and come to the bank branch.
Step 6
A credit card is issued in the same way. The only difference is that in most banks you will be asked to provide a certificate of income. If your income is too low, the bank may refuse to issue you a credit card. In addition, banks have age restrictions for issuing credit cards. Often they are not issued to too young people (under 21) or senior citizens (pensioners).
