Fraudsters prefer to counterfeit 1000 ruble bills. In second place are 500-ruble banknotes. To protect yourself and your loved ones, you need to learn how to determine the authenticity of a bill without special technical devices.

It is necessary

  • - banknotes in denominations of 5000, 1000, 500 rubles;
  • - magnifier;
  • - a coin.

Instructions

Step 1

Shake the bill near your ear. This method will determine the quality of the paper, which can be used to distinguish counterfeit money. A counterfeit banknote will rustle dully, while a banknote made of real paper will literally “rattle”.

Step 2

Gently wet the part of the note that you think is suspicious. Use where the paint is. If the bill is real, then nothing will happen to it. Fakes do not know how to use waterproof paints, therefore, your fingers will be painted in the color of the banknote.

Step 3

Take a close look at the number of the bill offered to you. The paint with which it is applied is made using a special technology and is firmly applied to the paper. When numbers and letters are poorly visible, or even in one place there is no dye, the bill is counterfeit.

Step 4

Fold the bill in the place where the serial number is located (even if it is intact - for verification). Run your fingernail or a coin along the fold. On the counterfeit banknote, paint will begin to peel off. Real money with this manipulation will remain unharmed.

Step 5

View the banknote in the light. At the same time, pay attention to the perforations - small holes indicating the denomination of the bill. They are performed with a special laser. The counterfeiter does not have such equipment, they use thin needles, the quality of the holes from which is noticeably different (uneven edges appear, the paper on which frizzes; the holes are located at unequal intervals). This moment can also be checked by feeling the money: the real one will have an even and smooth perforation, the fake one - convex.

Step 6

Take a closer look at the protective metallized thread. In the original banknote, at the point where the thread intersects with the number, the color of the number is applied over the metal part. Counterfeiters are not able to perform this operation, therefore, on their banknotes, a shiny rectangle overlaps a fragment of the unit (for example, on a 1,000-ruble note).
