Torn bills are often not accepted in large stores, and it is also impossible to use them to pay for any services through a terminal or ATM. Therefore, if you have a torn bill in your wallet, try to get rid of it as soon as possible.

Instructions

Step 1

The easiest way to exchange a torn bill (if the damage is not too severe) is to pay with it on a bus or in a minibus. At the end of the day, drivers hand over the proceeds to the general cashier, so they accept almost any bills for payment. The exception is banknotes, which are missing some part, therefore, if the bill is torn into several pieces, you must immediately glue them together with tape.

Step 2

You can pay with a torn bill in the market or in food stalls. As a rule, sellers of outlets that do not have cash registers accept damaged money for payment without objection.

Step 3

If the damage to the bill is so great that it does not allow exchanging it in the above ways (for example, a large piece is torn off the bill or it is torn into several parts), then you can return the bill in one of the branches of Sberbank of Russia.

To make an exchange, you need to go to the bank's cash desk, having with you all the parts of the torn bill and an identity document (passport). A banknote will be accepted by a bank employee even if it is glued from two halves of different banknotes with the same denomination.
