Many teachers or tutors who study a foreign language have already become directors of their own language schools and courses. This type of business will never cease to be relevant, because the modern world obliges any conscious person to learn at least one foreign language perfectly.
Instructions
Conduct marketing research. If you live in a big city (capital or regional center), be sure there are more competitors than you might imagine. This type of business is extremely popular today in big cities. If you are from a smaller city, find out how many foreign language courses or schools are currently open? What is the level of teaching in them? To do this, you can call all schools and find out what program they use, how long the training period lasts, what the price of the course is. You need to do this in order to navigate your own work.
Analyze what is lacking in the programs of other courses. How are your courses specifically going to be better? This is a very important point. The purpose of the training is clear - to teach the language, but you can focus on any aspect, come up with your own "chip". Have one of the teachers be a native speaker (take the trouble to find one in your city or invite from a larger city), let this be the hallmark of your courses. To stay ahead of the competition, you need an original, non-standard training system.
Decide on the status of future Courses. You have two paths here.
1. Register as a Non-Profit Educational Institution (NEU) and obtain a teaching license. Licensing gives your students a chance to receive government-issued certificates of completion at the end of their studies, but it is worth considering how much "weight" these certificates will have? If you invite the best teachers in the country to your school as teachers, then there are no questions - certificates will be in demand. And if not?
2. Register as an individual entrepreneur (IE). In this case, you will be able to conduct classes mainly for adults, but you will not face the terrible bureaucratic red tape that awaits you if you decide to register a NOU.
Calculate how much it will cost to rent premises, purchase textbooks, teachers' salaries, taxes. Keep in mind that the money that your courses will earn in a month should fully cover your expenses. Consequently, you will need to either make the cost of training high enough, which is highly undesirable - this will only alienate customers, or recruit a large number of students. Of course, the second option is preferable. Therefore, advertise the opening of courses on the Internet, in newspapers, on radio and television, make presentations at schools, at parent-teacher meetings, come to the directors of various institutions and tell us why it is so important for him to send his employees to foreign language courses to your school. … Do not forget to say that you have a discount for corporate clients.
Don't get hung up on one learning format. Keep in mind that people with different language backgrounds and different levels of employment may want to study. Make a basic program, let it last a year. But also do "intensives for those who have no time" - two to three month courses, seminars "Conversational English in a week", etc. Be creative. Come up with all sorts of PR stunts to grab the attention of customers. For example, announce a promotion - for every student who brings another one - 3 months of training for free!
