Starting a new business, whether it be renovating an apartment, getting a child to school, updating a wardrobe, holding a big family holiday or relaxing abroad, we often face the question: how much will it cost us? And this question, when planning any big business, is the most difficult for someone. I would like this event to live up to expectations and be remembered for bright moments, and not turn into regrets about an unsuccessful event. This is where the skill of making a correct estimate comes in handy.
Instructions
Step 1
When planning a big event, you start to paint in your imagination a picture of the desired result. While these images are in the head, this is only a plan, but if you translate it on paper and set out the sequence of events, then it will already be a plan or a project, whichever is more convenient for someone. When drawing up your project, you should write in more detail, taking into account the details. Maybe you want to install new doors, remove interior partitions, specifically decide on the type of wallpaper, or do something similar. The main goal of this design is to compile a list of specific actions at each stage of its implementation.
Step 2
Having in hand a list of steps to achieve the intended goal, you need to start compiling a list of the necessary requisites for each of the stages - first wallpaper, putty, baseboard, then new furniture, sconces, and so on. Having written the list, it will be good if you come back to editing it more than once in a couple of days in order to evaluate what you have written with a fresh look and add something that you accidentally missed before.
Step 3
The next step will be to collect information about the cost of the necessary goods and services that will ensure the successful implementation of your plans. Here you can wander around the shops, which is pleasant in itself and will provide an opportunity to collect the freshest and most realistic information for your region. You can surf the Internet, look at brochures, price lists of well-known companies, or take advantage of the experience of friends and acquaintances.
Step 4
Now, having all the data that is needed to draw up an estimate of the enterprise you have conceived, you need to arrange everything in a table and summarize. It is advisable to take the limits of the cost of the required goods slightly above the average, given that you may want to purchase some thing at a higher price. It is better not to rely on seasonal discounts or different promotions in stores, let it be a pleasant surprise for you. Also, if possible, it is advisable to include in the estimate the costs of unforeseen expenses, which in certain cases reach 20% of the total cost of the estimate.
