You do not need to calculate and pay VAT when writing off property due to damage or theft.

In addition, VAT is not levied on the circulation of Russian or foreign currency; the amount of interest paid by the borrower; transfer of the property of the organization to the legal successor; the transfer of property as an investment contribution and a number of other operations listed in Art. 146 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation.
