What turned out to be banned
The decree of Ukraine of 2016-17-10 and some events that occurred after that made the following options for transferring funds prohibited:
- MoneyGram
- Western Union
- Hummingbird
- Unistream
- Gold Crown
- Webmoney
- QIWI
- Yandex money
One of the main reasons for the ban from the Ukrainian side is that almost all of these systems were financed to one degree or another from the Russian side. That is, those services in which legal entities and individuals have their shares were banned. In some cases, the bans came from Russia.
And the worst thing in this situation is that the simplest and most widespread methods among users turned out to be prohibited - these are electronic wallets. But don't worry - even with bans on both sides, there are still ways to transfer money between Russia and Ukraine.
Simple and well-known methods
Here are the four easiest ways to transfer money from Ukraine to Russia:

- Online transfers between cards created in the IPS (Maestro, Visa or MasterCard).
- Electronic transfers between WMU and WMR in the WebMoney payment system.
- And the last common way is a person's own card. Usually, people order another card at PrivatBank, and then hand it over to a citizen of the Russian Federation in person or by mail.
These three methods are used by many users. But for those for whom they are not suitable, two more may be suitable.
PrivatBank
Another common method is a transfer between Sberbank and Privatbank. But there are several requirements to keep in mind:
- The person making the money transfer must be the owners of both cards - Privatbank and Sberbank. This requirement is relevant in cases where you need to transfer money from one card to another. The fact is that all bank applications are considered individually. Usually people, if they send frequently, get tested and get a positive decision. Those who use the service for the first time may receive a refusal from the bank.
- To transfer funds, the sender needs to register in the service for 5 minutes. This service allows you to quickly exchange finances. All you need is to enter your data, phone number and email.
- Also, a person needs to register with Sberbank Online.
- And, of course, you need to register at Privat24 as well. This is an optional condition, but it will not be superfluous.
An important point: it is best not to bind those cards that were issued by a banking institution in the personal account of the 5 minutes item. Of course, in this case, you will have to enter card details over and over again, but this will protect the card and its owner from fraud.
