Your own fitness club can become the start of a promising business - provided that the business is immediately put on the right track. It is important to choose the right location for the gym, not to skimp on coaches and advertising. And most importantly, you need to catch the trend, offer the potential clients of the club exactly what they need.
It is necessary
- - premises;
- - sport equipment;
- - personnel;
- - money for advertising and business development.
Instructions
Step 1
Do your own marketing research or order it from an agency. You have to collect information on already operating halls of different price categories, determine the size of the potential client audience, make a list of services that are represented by fitness clubs in your city and district where you are going to open your own establishment.
Step 2
Make a business plan. Calculate the profitability of the future club and the upcoming expenses. Decide if you can get by with the funds you already have or need a loan. An alternative option is to attract a partner or investor to the business.
Step 3
Choose a niche in which you will work. You can open a fitness club for families with children, a gym for men or, conversely, offering a wide range of services for women. The future price list depends on the concept of your club.
Step 4
Find a suitable room. Depending on the chosen concept, the hall can be located in the city center or in the depths of the sleeping area. Family-oriented clubs should be located closer to the place of residence of potential clients, and places where single girls and men will go are better opened in areas where there are many office centers.
Step 5
Purchase the necessary inventory. For a premium class hall, you will need the latest exercise equipment, massage tables and, possibly, equipment for a sauna, Turkish bath or other water procedures. Economical "rocking chairs" furnish simpler. Do not buy too much - it is better to acquire the missing devices over time than to become the owner of simulators that there is nowhere to install. If you don't have enough funds, consider buying used equipment or leasing it.
Step 6
Hire trainers. A good trainer is the main attraction for clients and the "golden fund" of any fitness center. Therefore, for a specialist hired from a competing club, you will have to pay, and a lot. If you are not ready for a "star" salary, grow super-trainers in your team. Hire a couple of promising newbies, send them to courses, improve their qualifications.
Step 7
Develop a system of bonuses for regular customers. Print discount (maybe even name) cards. Provide trial sessions and substantial discounts for long-term, family or corporate memberships. Hire a nutritionist who can create nutritional programs that are suitable for a particular workout. The more in-demand services you offer your clients, the more willingly and more often they will enter your club.
