PayPal is a popular worldwide payment system with over 160 million users. However, not everyone seems to find it convenient and useful, so if necessary, you can delete your account by following a simple instruction.
To delete your PayPal account, you need to log into it through the official website https://www.paypal.com, correctly entering your username and password. It should be remembered that no more than 10 erroneous data entries in a row are allowed, and subsequently access to the personal account for the current IP address will be limited for some time.
To close (block) your account, go to the "Profile" tab and click "Close Account" in the "My Settings" section. Follow the further instructions on the screen to confirm the procedure. The system will offer to indicate the reasons for closing the account, and you need to select one of them.
After passing the verification, re-confirm your intention to close your account by clicking on the appropriate button. Make sure that there are no pending payments left in the system, and you are not waiting for the completion of the process of sending or receiving funds. If any, you may receive an error message when closing your account. It is also not uncommon for the user to be unaware that funds are expected to arrive.
If you were unable to complete the deletion procedure, contact the system support service, informing you that you want to delete your account. Click on the links "My Account" and "Close Account", after which you will be redirected to the deletion page, where you will need to follow the instructions on the screen. Follow the prompts to complete the manual account closure procedure.
If there are unused funds on the account, they must first be withdrawn from the system. This can be done by transferring to a bank card. To do this, log into your account and select the withdrawal function. Enter the required amount in the special field, then select the appropriate currency and bank account for the transfer. Upon completion of the transaction, you will receive a notification to the email address specified during registration. Please note that funds are credited to your bank account within 7-10 business days.
If you are considering using your current PayPal account in the future, you can restrict your account by removing the bank card associated with it. To do this, go to the "Profile" tab on the main page of the system and select the "My funds" section. Next to the line "Debit cards" click on the "Update" button. Select a card and unlink it (the procedure will be performed immediately). Please note that after unlinking the card, the ability to make quick transfers will become unavailable. Instead, only the function of sending and receiving electronic checks will remain.
