Payment for weekends and holidays is regulated by Article 153 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. Involvement in work on weekends and holidays is possible only as a last resort, if special or extraordinary circumstances have arisen and only with the written consent of the employees themselves. But there are situations when the employer can legally engage in work without written consent. They are also regulated by the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.

Step 1

Holidays are specified in article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. Days off are those days that are determined by the work schedule. For example, if an employee works on a staggered schedule, then Saturday and Sunday are not considered days off. For employees with a 5-day work week, days off are considered Saturday and Sunday, with a 6-day work week - Sunday. All-Russian holidays are considered days off for everyone, regardless of the schedule, therefore, according to article 153 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, they must be paid in double amount, even if the employee works on these days according to his own schedule.

Step 2

If an employee receives a salary for work to pay for a weekend or holiday, calculate the cost of one day of work in the current month, multiply by the number of days worked on a weekend or holiday, and multiply by 2. You can also calculate the cost of one hour in the current month by dividing the salary by the number of working hours in a given month. Multiply the resulting figure by the sum of hours worked on a weekend or holiday, and multiply by 2. Instead of double pay, an employee can take advantage of an additional day off. In this case, pay a single amount for work on weekends and holidays.

Step 3

If an employee receives piecework wages for their work, calculate the work done and multiply the cost by 2. You can pay double the piece rate by calculating the average cost of one day of work in the current month.

Step 4

If an employee receives an hourly wage rate for their work, multiply the number of hours worked by the wage rate and multiply by two to pay for work on weekends and holidays.

Step 5

This calculation is made in accordance with labor law. In the internal regulations of the company, you can establish other calculation rules, for example, pay for work on weekends and holidays at a triple rate. The main thing is that this does not infringe on the interests of employees, and the payments should not be less than double the amount.
