It is necessary

  • Technical passport for a car registered with the state.
  • Identity card (owner's passport).

Instructions

Step 1

The transport tax belongs to the category of local taxes, therefore, its rate in each region may differ in its basic component, but not more than 10 times in the direction of its decrease or increase. The tax legislation of the Russian Federation establishes a single base tax rate annually. Currently, according to article 361 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, the following basic rates of transport tax on cars are in force:

• up to 100 hp. - 5 p. from 1 hp;

• over 100 hp. up to 150 hp - 7 p.;

• over 150 hp. up to 200 hp - 10 rubles;

• over 200 hp. up to 250 hp - 15 p.;

• over 250 hp. - 30 p.

Step 2

Transport tax begins to be charged from the moment the car is registered with the state exactly from the month in which you registered it.

You can calculate the amount of tax yourself in advance, you just need to find out on the official website of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation the base tax rate for 1 horsepower (more HP) of a vehicle, established specifically in your region. Example: You live in the Krasnodar Territory and are the owner of a car with an engine power of 105 hp. The tax rate for 2010 in the region is set at 25 rubles / hp.

For a full year of operation, you are required to pay the amount of tax 105 x 25 = 2625 p.

Step 3

The transport tax is supposed to be paid once a year. The tax authority at the place of your registration must send a tax notice with the calculated car tax and a receipt for payment to your address in advance. The transport tax for the previous year must be paid no later than July 1 for Moscow (or June 1 for some other regions) of the current year. any branch of Sberbank or another bank that provides similar services to the population. You can find out more about the timing of tax payment in your region on the same official website of the Federal Tax Service.

Step 4

If you do not live at the place of your permanent registration, then it is best to personally appear at the tax office and get there a receipt for payment of transport tax in advance in order to pay the tax without delay.

Step 5

If you live at the actual registration address and have not received a notification for payment of vehicle tax, you should also contact the tax office for a receipt to avoid late payment.
