Instructions

Step 1

When using ATMs, the main difficulty is not the procedure for withdrawing money, but the opportunity to fall for certain tricks of fraudsters. Carding, or illegal use of someone else's credit card information, causes billions of dollars in losses to banks every year. If abroad a person who has become a victim of carders can still prove his innocence and return the stolen money, then in Russia it is very difficult not to remain extreme in a situation of fraud. That is why all safety precautions should be followed when using an ATM.

Step 2

The procedure for withdrawing cash from an ATM is very simple. Examine the ATM, the card receiver is on its right side, usually at the level of the monitor. Place the card in the correct way: the magnetic stripe should be at the bottom and to the right. Insert the card into the card slot, it will be grabbed and pulled into the ATM. After that, you will be asked to enter a PIN, type it on the keyboard under the monitor and press the Enter button. Be careful not to make a mistake when entering the PIN - a three-time error will block the card.

Step 3

If the secret code is entered correctly, you will see on the screen the options available to you, ranging from checking the balance and ending with receiving money. Select the option you want - for example, withdrawing money. To do this, depending on the type of ATM, you must either press directly on the touch screen on the desired line, or on one of the buttons next to the monitor opposite the selected value.

Step 4

The picture on the screen will change, you will be prompted to select the amount to be withdrawn. You can choose one of the standard amounts or enter your own. The selection is carried out by pressing the corresponding line on the screen or the button next to the monitor. Once selected, you will be asked whether to print a receipt. It is better to confirm, as having a check will save you any surprises. The check will indicate the ATM number, the amount withdrawn and the one that remains on the card account.

Step 5

After confirmation, the ATM will give you a card and start counting the money. Don't forget to pick up your card! The money will appear in a special tray at the bottom of the ATM. Please note that if you do not collect the money within about 40 seconds, the ATM will collect it again. The same goes for the card - if you do not pick it up within 20-30 seconds, it will be pulled into the ATM.

Step 6

When working with an ATM, be sure to follow the safety rules. When entering your PIN, make sure that no one is standing behind your back and not peeping. It is highly recommended to cover the entered numbers with your palm, this will protect you not only from banal peeping, but also from tracking using a miniature video camera that fraudsters can install on an ATM.

Step 7

Try to use the same ATMs, while remembering their appearance. In particular, be sure to remember what the card receiver and the ATM keypad look like. Fraudsters can install a skimmer on the card reader - a special device that reads information from the card, and put their own invoice on the keyboard, memorizing keystrokes. Be careful and you will never fall for such tricks.
