Today psychological services function in places of detention, in military units, internal affairs bodies, industrial enterprises and even in schools. The psychologists who work in them, of course, have different specializations, but the organizational issues that have to be solved when creating such services are in many ways similar.

Step 1
To organize a psychological service that will function successfully and solve the tasks assigned to it, it is necessary to correctly design its organizational structure. Think about the place that the psychological service will take in a particular organization or department.
Step 2
Make a list of the tasks that psychologists will solve. Determine the directions of their work, they should include correctional, educational and research activities in accordance with the set social order. Think about what programs you need to implement inside each block.
Step 3
Determine what the qualitative and quantitative composition of the specialists will be, based on their complexity and scope of the proposed work and in accordance with the current regulations. Today, the organization, which employs about 500 people, can employ one or two full-time psychologists.
Step 4
When forming an organizational structure, define its area of responsibility and subordination - whether it will be an independent unit or this structure will be part of some other department, for example, the HR department or the personnel department. Approve the staff of psychologists from the management and define their job responsibilities, guided by the qualification handbook of employee positions.
Step 5
Decide where the psychological service will be located. For obvious reasons, this department needs to allocate several workrooms so that specialists have the opportunity to work individually. Think over the issue of design of each office, this is a prerequisite for successful functioning. Solve the issue of logistics, equip the workplaces of psychologists with computers and special literature. If possible, equip a separate room for psychological relaxation.
Step 6
Consider the legal framework for the psychological service in conjunction with the company's lawyers. Develop all the necessary local documentation regulating its activities. Develop and approve with the management of the enterprise or organization a regulation on the psychological service, which stipulates its functions, duties and rights.
